What to Expect On Your Visit To Gainesville’s Deep Root Medicine
Because we’ll be handling intake and diagnostics, your first visit to Deep Root Medicine will last longer than subsequent visits, so plan for about an hour and a half. During this initial session, we’ll work together to get a comprehensive health history and perform diagnostics to make sure we are on the same page in terms of your health concerns and goals. To maximize your treatment outcomes, it’s important to spend this extra time to ensure the initial interview and diagnostics are completed thoroughly. Following the intake process, we’ll move on to your actual treatment session.
Since there will be less time spent on intake, subsequent visits typically last just one hour, and they can be modified according to your progress and/or changing conditions and needs. The number of sessions needed to complete your treatment will depend in large part on the severity of your health issues and how long they have been a part of your life. The longer something has been with you, the more work we will need to do to change that pattern. We’ll work together to establish treatment goals and meet expectations for progress.
You’ll need to fill out few intake forms before your first visit, so if you’d like to expedite that process, you can fill these forms out before coming to the clinic. If you signed up for an appointment online, links to these forms will be emailed to you. If your visit wasn’t scheduled online, simply email us, and we’ll be happy to send you the links. We recommend you fill the forms out before you come in, so we have a clear sense of your background and health history before we get working. However, if you are unable to do this beforehand, we will go through them together when you come in for your first appointment.
Gainesville Holistic Healthcare
As of August 2018, I have moved my practice over to Gainesville Holistic Healthcare. They have an extensive list of what we treat at the clinic.
I provide an initial consultation free of charge, which allows us both to feel confident that we mutually understand the concerns and goals that will drive the treatment strategy. This consult will also give us a chance to determine whether we are a good fit in working together. If we find that we can effectively work together, we’ll typically begin the initial treatment session immediately following the intake process.
There are a several different kinds of treatments and services we provide during your visits to Deep Root Medicine. All visits involve time for necessary diagnostics, but how we choose to proceed with your treatment plan can vary. Many visits will involve acupuncture. Others may involve massage therapy and bodywork. We often combine acupuncture with massage, and we may make recommendations forherbal medicine as well. The course of therapy will all depend on your goals and needs.
Payment Arrangements
I recognize there are times when finances can be stretched thin, so if you have worked with me before, received a recommendation to work with me, or simply feel we would be a particularly good fit, but cannot afford the standard prices, don’t let that deter you from seeking help. When there is good cause, I am happy to work with you on the price until your financial situation stabilizes.
Herbal Medicine Formulas & Prices
Even after years of both personal and clinical experience, I am still surprised and delighted by the effectiveness of herbal medicine, especially when used in conjunction with acupuncture. I prescribe herbs only from companies that I trust to make the most pure, potent, and carefully crafted products. I’m also very happy to generate custom formulas for your particular case. Custom formulas tend to be even more effective, since they are tailored to not only your particular pattern of disharmony, but to your personal manifestation of these issues as well.
While herbs are very inexpensive compared to pharmaceutical drugs, it’s not uncommon to pay $70 to $100 for a month’s supply, depending on the needs of your case. While it’s possible to work with patients financially to pay for acupuncture therapy, unfortunately, the cost for herbs do not leave room for mitigating prices. Of course, patients are never required to buy or use herbal medicine, but if you can afford it, you will see faster and more consistent results in your treatments, so we sincerely recommend using them whenever possible.
Do You Take Insurance?
Unfortunately, we do not currently accept insurance. However, if your insurance plan covers acupuncture and you would like to file with them for reimbursement, we are happy to make the necessary documentation available upon request.
